Born from Love: The Story Behind Rukmini Shringar Jewellery

Some brands begin with a business plan.

Some begin with a product idea.

Some begin because a person sees a new trend and wants to make money from it.

Rukmini Shringar began with love.

It began with the memory of one woman whose care stayed with me even after she was no longer physically present in my life.

That woman was my grandmother, Rukmini.

She loved me, cared for me and stood close to me until her last breath. Her place in my life cannot be fully explained through a few sentences. Some relationships are too deep for that.

When I decided to build something of my own, I did not want to choose a name only because it sounded fashionable. I wanted the name to carry meaning.

I wanted it to hold a memory.

I wanted it to remind me why I had started whenever the journey became difficult.

That is how Rukmini Shringar found its name.

“Rukmini Shringar was not named after a trend. It was named after love.”

Today, Rukmini Shringar is an affordable fashion jewellery brand for modern Indian women. We offer daily-wear, office-wear, college-wear, anti-tarnish and American diamond jewellery.

But behind every earring, pendant, ring and bracelet, there is a much more personal story.

This is that story.

The Woman Behind the Name Rukmini

My grandmother Rukmini was not only a member of my family.

She was a strong emotional part of my life.

Her love was simple, pure and constant. She cared for me in a way that made me feel protected. Her presence gave me a kind of comfort that is difficult to replace.

Many people remember their grandparents through old photographs, family stories or special objects.

I wanted to remember my grandmother through something alive.

I wanted her name to continue being spoken.

I wanted new people to know that the name Rukmini stood for love, care and warmth.

When someone says Rukmini Shringar, they may first think of jewellery. For me, the name will always mean much more.

It reminds me of where I came from.

It reminds me of the love I received.

It reminds me that a business can have a heart.

My grandmother passed away in 2022. Losing her left a space that could never be filled in the same way.

But love does not disappear when a person leaves.

It changes its form.

Sometimes it becomes a memory. Sometimes it becomes a lesson. Sometimes it becomes the strength that helps us move forward.

For me, part of that love became Rukmini Shringar.

Turning a Memory into Something Meaningful

After losing someone close to us, we often ask ourselves how we can keep that person’s memory alive.

There is no single answer.

For some people, it may be a photograph in the home. For others, it may be following a lesson that person taught them. For me, it became the wish to build something connected to my grandmother’s name.

I did not want to use her name without purpose.

The brand had to carry some of the qualities I connected with her:

  • Care
  • Warmth
  • Simplicity
  • Love
  • Trust
  • A feeling of belonging

Jewellery became the right way to express those qualities.

Jewellery is personal. It is worn close to the body. It becomes part of important moments and normal days.

A woman may wear earrings to her first interview.

She may wear a pendant on a regular office morning.

She may choose a bracelet before meeting her friends.

She may gift a ring to her sister.

She may save a necklace because it reminds her of a special day.

Jewellery can hold feelings and memories.

That emotional connection made the name feel right.

Rukmini represents the love behind the brand.

Shringar represents beauty, adornment and the joy of getting ready.

Together, the name expresses what I wanted to create: jewellery made with feeling, for the everyday lives of women.

My Life Before Rukmini Shringar

My name is Omkar Kadam.

I completed my Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering in 2022.

My education was in construction, design, measurements and technical work. It was not in fashion. It was not in jewellery. It was not in branding or online selling.

I did not grow up thinking that I would one day build a jewellery business.

Like many young people, I completed my education and started thinking about work, responsibilities and the future.

At the same time, I felt that I wanted to create something of my own.

I wanted to build a business that had meaning.

I did not want it to be only about buying and selling products. I wanted customers to feel connected to it.

Starting a jewellery brand without years of jewellery experience was not easy.

There were many things I did not know.

I had to learn about:

  • Different designs
  • Materials and finishes
  • Product quality
  • Customer preferences
  • Pricing
  • Photography
  • Packaging
  • Online selling
  • Social media
  • Customer service
  • Shipping
  • Returns
  • Website building
  • Brand communication

Every part of the business required learning.

There was no perfect road map in front of me.

I had to move one step at a time.

Why I Chose Jewellery

Jewellery may look like a small part of an outfit, but it can change how a person feels.

A plain white shirt can look polished with a simple chain.

A kurti can feel complete with the right earrings.

A basic college outfit can look stylish with hoops and a delicate pendant.

A woman may feel more confident before a meeting simply because she feels well dressed.

That small change interested me.

I started noticing that many women wanted to wear new and stylish jewellery regularly. They wanted pieces for work, college, travel, cafés, family gatherings and normal days.

But they often faced two choices.

The first choice was expensive jewellery that could not be purchased often.

The second was very low-cost jewellery that might quickly lose its shine, look different from the photograph or feel poorly finished.

There was a clear space between these two choices.

Women wanted jewellery that looked good, felt modern and remained affordable.

They did not always want jewellery only for weddings or big festivals.

They wanted jewellery for Monday morning.

They wanted jewellery for lectures, meetings, commutes, coffee breaks and dinner plans.

They wanted beauty that could become part of daily life.

That idea became one of the strongest reasons behind Rukmini Shringar.

“A woman should not need a special occasion to feel special.”

The Problem I Saw in the Market

Fashion jewellery is available in many places.

It is sold in local markets, social-media pages, online stores and large marketplaces.

But availability does not always mean trust.

Many customers have had disappointing experiences.

A product may look beautiful in a photograph but appear very different after delivery.

The gold shade may look too yellow.

The stone setting may look weak.

The size may be unclear.

The product may lose its finish quickly.

The packaging may feel careless.

There may be no proper response when the customer asks a question.

At the same time, many established jewellery brands offer beautiful products, but their prices may be too high for regular buying.

A college student may not want to spend a large amount on one pair of earrings.

A young professional may want different pieces for different outfits but still needs to manage her monthly budget.

An office-going woman may want something elegant without buying real gold for daily use.

I saw the need for a brand that could offer a better balance.

The goal was not to call everything “cheap.”

The goal was to offer good-looking jewellery at honest and accessible prices.

Many of our products fall within an affordable range of approximately ₹100 to ₹700.

This allows customers to try new styles, create small collections and refresh their everyday looks without making a heavy financial commitment.

Affordability is important to us.

But affordability should never become an excuse for careless service.

“Affordable should never mean careless.”

Starting Without a Perfect Background

When people see a brand online, they usually see the finished part.

They see the logo.

They see the product photographs.

They see the packaging.

They see the website and social-media posts.

They do not always see the learning behind them.

I entered this business without deep experience in jewellery.

That meant I had to ask questions, make observations and learn through action.

I had to understand which designs women actually wanted to wear.

A product can look beautiful by itself but still be difficult to style.

A heavy design may get attention in a photograph but may not suit a long office day.

A trendy piece may look exciting for one month but may not become a customer’s favourite.

I slowly learned that our customers needed a mixture of style and usefulness.

They wanted pieces that could work with:

  • Kurtis
  • Formal shirts
  • Dresses
  • Jeans
  • Blazers
  • Sarees
  • Indo-western outfits
  • College outfits
  • Office outfits
  • Simple festive looks

This changed the way I looked at product selection.

I was not only choosing jewellery.

I was choosing what role each piece could play in a woman’s day.

Could she wear it to work?

Would it feel too heavy?

Could she match it with more than one outfit?

Would it make a good gift?

Would it feel worth the price?

These questions became part of the process.

The People Who Supported Me

No business is truly built by one person alone.

Even when there is one founder, there are people who give emotional strength, advice, time and belief.

My parents supported me during the journey.

My friends supported me.

The person who would become my life partner also supported me and believed in what I was trying to build.

Their support mattered because starting something new can feel uncertain.

There are days when progress feels slow.

There are moments when you question your choices.

There are problems that seem bigger because you are facing them for the first time.

During such moments, even a few words of belief can make a large difference.

The people close to me helped me continue.

They listened to ideas.

They shared opinions.

They encouraged me when I was learning.

They reminded me that every business takes time.

Rukmini Shringar may carry my grandmother’s name, but it has also grown with the support of the people who stood beside me.

That is why the word “love” in our tagline has more than one meaning.

It represents my grandmother’s love.

It represents the support of my family and close friends.

It also represents the care we want customers to feel when they shop with us.

Building Rukmini Shringar One Step at a Time

The brand did not become complete on the first day.

It grew through small decisions.

One design at a time.

One customer conversation at a time.

One photograph at a time.

One package at a time.

One lesson at a time.

I had to think about how the brand should look and feel.

The visual identity had to honour the traditional and emotional meaning of the name Rukmini. At the same time, it had to connect with modern women.

That balance became important.

Our logo uses a graceful woman, traditional jewellery details, warm burgundy and gold tones. These parts reflect elegance, Indian beauty and emotional warmth.

But the products are not limited to heavy traditional jewellery.

Rukmini Shringar also offers modern, minimal and everyday pieces.

This mix represents the women we serve.

A modern Indian woman may wear a formal shirt in the morning and a kurta in the evening.

She may love traditional festivals and also follow global fashion trends.

She may want American diamond earrings for an event and simple anti-tarnish hoops for work.

She does not fit into only one style.

Our brand should not force her to.

What Rukmini Shringar Stands For

Rukmini Shringar stands for a simple belief:

Every woman should be able to enjoy beautiful jewellery without feeling that elegance is beyond her budget.

We want the brand to feel:

  • Warm
  • Trustworthy
  • Modern
  • Feminine
  • Honest
  • Caring
  • Stylish
  • Affordable
  • Premium in presentation
  • Easy to approach

We are not trying to create a brand that feels distant.

We want customers to feel comfortable asking questions.

We want a first-time online buyer to understand what she is purchasing.

We want product information to be clear.

We want prices to feel fair.

We want the package to feel special when it reaches the customer.

We want the jewellery to become part of her real life.

The brand is not only about how jewellery looks on a model.

It is about how it makes a customer feel when she sees herself in the mirror.

Does she feel more complete?

Does she feel confident?

Does she feel ready for her day?

Does she smile because she found something beautiful within her budget?

That feeling is at the centre of the brand.

Jewellery Made for Everyday Life

The words “everyday jewellery” are very important to us.

Everyday does not mean boring.

It means useful.

It means wearable.

It means a piece can become part of your routine instead of remaining inside a box.

Our customers include college students, office-going women, young professionals, freelancers, entrepreneurs, creators and women who simply enjoy getting ready.

Their lives are different, but many of them share the same wish:

“I want to look stylish every day without spending too much.”

This is why our collections may include:

  • Minimal earrings
  • Hoops
  • Studs
  • Chain pendants
  • Bracelets
  • Rings
  • Bangles
  • Necklaces
  • Anklets
  • American diamond jewellery
  • Anti-tarnish styles
  • Gift-ready combinations

Some pieces are simple.

Some sparkle.

Some have a modern western look.

Some carry an Indian touch.

The aim is to give customers choices for different moods and moments.

A small pair of studs may be perfect for a work meeting.

A pendant may complete a college outfit.

A bracelet may become an easy birthday gift.

An American diamond necklace may add sparkle to a celebration.

Good everyday jewellery should fit into life easily.

Premium-Looking Style Without the Heavy Price

The phrase “affordable premium” can sound like a marketing term.

For us, it has a practical meaning.

It means the jewellery should look carefully selected and well presented, even when the price is accessible.

A customer should not feel embarrassed because she chose affordable jewellery.

She should feel proud that she found something beautiful at a smart price.

Many women admire real gold, silver and diamond jewellery. But these are not always practical for regular fashion changes.

A customer may want to match jewellery with different clothes.

She may want to try a trending design.

She may want a gift that feels special but remains within budget.

Fashion jewellery gives her that freedom.

Our role is to make that freedom feel more trustworthy.

We want to reduce the gap between low-cost products and high-priced branded jewellery.

That means paying attention to:

  • Design selection
  • Product finish
  • Clear photographs
  • Honest descriptions
  • Suitable packaging
  • Customer communication
  • Fair pricing
  • Easy product discovery

We are still learning and improving.

But the direction remains clear.

We want Rukmini Shringar jewellery to look and feel more valuable than the amount a customer spends.

Our Anti-Tarnish Jewellery

Anti-tarnish jewellery has become popular because many women want pieces they can wear more regularly.

Normal fashion jewellery may react to air, moisture, sweat, perfume or chemicals over time.

Anti-tarnish jewellery is designed to resist that change for longer.

However, honesty is important.

Anti-tarnish does not mean that a product can never change.

It does not mean that every piece is permanently waterproof.

Its life depends on many things, including how often it is worn, how it is stored and how much it comes in contact with water, sweat, perfume or chemicals.

Our supplier-supported anti-tarnish products are generally designed to maintain their finish for at least around six months with suitable care. Some may continue looking good for a year or longer, depending on use.

We do not want to make impossible promises.

Instead, we want customers to understand the product and take proper care of it.

We usually suggest:

  • Keeping jewellery dry where possible
  • Avoiding perfume directly on the product
  • Removing jewellery before swimming
  • Wiping it gently after use
  • Storing pieces separately
  • Keeping them away from strong chemicals

Anti-tarnish jewellery can be a useful choice for women who want modern pieces for office, college and regular outings.

Our American Diamond Jewellery

American diamond jewellery brings sparkle without the cost of natural diamonds.

The term “American diamond” usually refers to artificial diamond-look stones used in fashion jewellery.

These pieces can give a rich and festive appearance while remaining more affordable.

They work well for:

  • Parties
  • Weddings
  • Family functions
  • Festivals
  • Dinner dates
  • Gifting
  • Special office events
  • Traditional outfits
  • Indo-western looks

Some customers prefer very small American diamond studs for daily wear.

Others enjoy larger earrings, pendants or necklaces for celebrations.

Our aim is to offer a mixture.

We want the collection to include pieces for women who like subtle shine as well as women who enjoy more noticeable sparkle.

American diamond jewellery is not real diamond jewellery, and we believe this should be clearly understood.

A customer deserves honest information.

She should know what she is purchasing and why it offers value.

Our goal is not to create confusion.

Our goal is to make beautiful styles more accessible.

Trust Is Part of Every Order

When a person buys jewellery online, she cannot touch the product before paying.

She cannot test its weight.

She cannot see its colour under different lights.

She cannot immediately know how large or small it will look.

That is why trust is important.

A customer is not only paying for a product.

She is trusting the photographs, the description, the website and the business behind it.

We take that trust seriously.

“Every order carries two things: jewellery and trust.”

We want to improve that trust through:

  • Clear product information
  • Close-up photographs
  • Product videos
  • Honest material details
  • Size information
  • Care instructions
  • Responsive support
  • Proper packaging
  • Fair policies
  • Real customer feedback

No business is perfect.

Mistakes may happen.

A product may be damaged during delivery.

A wrong item may sometimes be packed.

A courier may delay an order.

What matters is how the business responds.

Our aim is to listen, check the facts and provide a fair solution.

A customer should not feel ignored after making payment.

For a small business, every customer relationship matters.

One happy customer can return many times.

She can also share the brand with her sister, friend or colleague.

That kind of trust is more valuable than a one-time sale.

Why Packaging Matters to Us

A customer may order a small pair of earrings, but receiving the package can still feel exciting.

That moment matters.

Opening a parcel is part of the shopping experience.

The product should feel protected.

The package should feel clean.

The presentation should show care.

For gift orders, packaging becomes even more important.

The person receiving the jewellery may first see the box, pouch or greeting card before seeing the actual product.

Good packaging tells the customer that the order was not treated carelessly.

It does not always need to be expensive.

It needs to feel thoughtful.

This connects with the deeper meaning of Rukmini Shringar.

The brand was born from care, so the experience should also show care.

We want customers to feel that someone paid attention while preparing their order.

A package cannot replace product quality, but it can complete the experience.

It can turn an ordinary purchase into a small moment of joy.

The Meaning of “Born from Love. Made for Your Everyday.”

Our tagline is:

“Born from Love. Made for Your Everyday.”

Every word was chosen for a reason.

Born from Love

The brand was born from the love I carry for my grandmother Rukmini.

It also grew through the love and support of my parents, friends and life partner.

It represents the emotional reason behind the business.

Made for Your Everyday

The jewellery is not meant only for weddings and festivals.

It is made for normal life.

It is made for:

  • Your college morning
  • Your office presentation
  • Your first job
  • Your coffee plan
  • Your family dinner
  • Your simple kurti
  • Your formal shirt
  • Your birthday gift
  • Your small celebration
  • Your everyday confidence

The tagline brings our past and our purpose together.

The first half tells you why the brand began.

The second half tells you who it is for.

That is the complete meaning of Rukmini Shringar.

The Women We Hope to Serve

We do not believe beauty belongs to one type of woman.

It does not depend on age, job, city, body type or income.

Our customers may include a student buying her first pendant.

They may include a young professional preparing for an interview.

They may include an office-going woman who wants something light and elegant.

They may include a sister choosing a gift.

They may include a mother looking for an affordable piece for a family event.

They may include a woman buying jewellery for herself simply because it makes her happy.

Self-purchase is important.

A woman does not always need to wait for someone else to gift her something beautiful.

She can choose it for herself.

She can celebrate an ordinary day.

She can add a small piece of joy to her routine.

We want Rukmini Shringar to be part of those moments.

Not only the large moments people post online.

Also the quiet ones.

The morning when you feel tired but still get ready.

The day you receive a compliment at work.

The evening you meet an old friend.

The moment you look in the mirror and feel complete.

What I Am Still Learning

Building a business is not a one-time achievement.

It is an ongoing process.

I am still learning about products, customers, technology, design and service.

Customer expectations also change.

New trends appear.

New platforms develop.

New challenges come with growth.

There will always be something to improve.

I do not want to present Rukmini Shringar as a perfect brand that already knows everything.

I want it to be known as a sincere brand that listens and improves.

Customer feedback helps us understand:

  • Which designs people prefer
  • Which product details are unclear
  • Which sizes are needed
  • Which packaging works better
  • Which collections should be expanded
  • Where our service needs improvement

Listening is important, especially for a growing business.

We want to build with customers, not only sell to them.

Every message, review and suggestion can help shape the next step.

My Vision for Rukmini Shringar

My vision is to build Rukmini Shringar into a trusted affordable jewellery brand for women across India.

I want people to recognise the name.

But recognition alone is not enough.

I want the name to carry a good feeling.

When someone hears “Rukmini Shringar,” I want her to think of:

  • Beautiful everyday designs
  • Honest prices
  • Warm service
  • Thoughtful packaging
  • Modern style
  • Reliable support
  • Emotional meaning

I want a college student to find something she can comfortably afford.

I want an office-going woman to find pieces that match her daily wardrobe.

I want a gift buyer to find something that feels special.

I want customers to return because they trust the brand, not only because there is a discount.

Growth is important.

But the way we grow is also important.

We do not want to lose the emotional reason behind the brand.

Even as the product range becomes larger and more orders come in, the name Rukmini should continue to remind us to work with care.

More Than a Jewellery Store

It would be easy to describe Rukmini Shringar as an online jewellery store.

That description is correct, but it is not complete.

To me, it is also:

  • A tribute to my grandmother
  • A personal learning journey
  • A dream built with family support
  • A way to serve modern Indian women
  • A chance to make style more affordable
  • A promise to keep improving

Every founder hopes that the business will succeed.

I also carry that hope.

But I want success to mean more than sales.

Success will mean that customers remember us.

It will mean that a woman wears our earrings often because they match everything.

It will mean that someone chooses our jewellery as a gift for her sister.

It will mean that a customer tells her friend, “You should check this brand.”

It will mean that my grandmother’s name continues to be spoken with warmth.

That would make the journey truly meaningful.
